Horizon System Future transportation

Horizon System: The plane that can pick up trains.

The Horizon System offers a glimpse into the future of intercontinental transportation in 2050.
The Horizon System is an entirely electric system of transportation conceived as a hybrid between a plane and a train. Thanks to a maglev-style mechanism, the large aircraft is able to pick up passengers inside the small SkyLink trains while both the plane and trains are in motion, eliminating the possibility of congestion at large airports and on highways. Horizon System has no pilot, which means it could be the largest drone ever conceived.

Passengers would enter the Horizon System through their local SkyStation. After getting on board a SkyLink pod and reaching the Airstrip, passengers are picked up by the SkyShip. As the train gently accelerates to match the speed of the approaching aircraft, it is carefully plucked from the track and lifted up, only to be soon dropped off at another location.

The aircraft never touches the ground-its wings sail along the maglev rails as outgoing cars are released and the new ones are picked up. Battery packs on board the train cars (or pods) are charged as it travels along the rails—these battery packs that power the aircraft in flight. The released cars start recharging as soon as they reach the transit rails.

iPhone 6 concept

iPhone 6 concept

There have been lots of extremely cool Apple iPhone 6 concepts.
We like this one a lot.  Check out these 3d concepts by artist Peter Zigich.

Home Button

Home Button It has been there since the first iPhone. The physical Home Button is one of the best design features of the iPhone, but it takes up a lot of space at the front. How about moving Home button to the side?
We could end up with bigger screen or a smaller phone.

Cool Steampunk 3d Art

We are huge fans of Steampunk & Dieselpunk.

Take a look at these cool 3d Steampunk beauties:

Atoma by Kazuhiko Nakamura

Atoma by Kazuhiko Nakamura

What is Steampunk?

Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery, especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century. Steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West", in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has regained mainstream use, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power. Steampunk perhaps most recognizably features anachronistic technologies or retro-futuristic inventions as people in the 19th century might have envisioned them, and is likewise rooted in the era's perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art. Such technology may include fictional machines

Honda Chopper motorcycle

Futuristic Honda motorcycle

Awesome futuristic motorcycle 3d concept by artist Pete Norris.

Inspiration for this came from a number of sources, the clean functional lines of medical machinery, 70's and 80's marker drawings and manga.

As a kid my favourite vehicle from any film was the speeder bike from Return of the Jedi, so I guess there maybe some influence from that too.

Pin up girls

Cool cartoon style pin up girls.

Collection of cool 3D character illustrations and pin up girls created by Carlos Ortega Elizalde, talented 3D character artist from Guanajuato, Mexico.

The Weeping Woman

Pin up girls by Carlos Ortega Elizalde cool 3d concepts
The Weeping Woman

Created for the Collective Exhibition in Mexico: "Ilustrando para" as homage for the mexican Rock Band "Caifanes", glad to be part of this collection along with many talented mexican colleagues I respect and admire.

It depicts my vision of one of many versions of the mexican legend of "The Weeping Woman" (La Llorona) and it is inspired by the song of the same name by the band Caifanes. The legend tells the story of a young woman who has lost her children, even after her death, during nights her spirit keeps weeping in sadness looking for her dead children.

Epilogue

Another unfinished scene from a while ago. I found it recently and thought it was a cute scene worth to finish. Created in Maya and Mudbox, render in mental ray

Missing Link

Missing Link

Nothing fancy, this started just as a rendering test with FurryBall’s new version so I grabbed an old model I’ve used on a few workshops to practice lighting and rendering (the base mesh is from an image I did last year).
At the end I spent a couple of days adding other details and reworked the rig and model (hair, clothes, face).

Apple early concept designs & prototypes

Awesome Apple concept designs from nearly 35 years ago

Apple early concept designs & prototypes from the book:

Keep it simple - The Early Design Years of Apple by  Hartmut Esslinger

Apple Macphone 1984 Apple Macphone 1984

‘Keep it Simple’ introduces the success story of Apple from the viewpoint of Hartmut Esslinger, who as an external designer in close collaboration with Steve Jobs was essentially responsible for the design of Apple products. His authentic perspective dispels many a myth – a must for all Apple enthusiasts.

‘Keep it Simple’ is the authentic story of the collaboration between Steve Jobs and Hartmut Esslinger, which began in 1982. The result of this partnership between entrepreneur and designer is of historic dimensions: Steve Jobs was the first to make Strategic Design the core of Apple’s Business Strategy. By this, Apple grew from an originally technology focused company into one of the world’s most successful, global brand, and this was achieved by creating and delivering innovative and intelligent products designed for humans like you and me.

New London bus concept

Bus concept by designer Jamie Martin.

In the summer of 2008, London Mayor Boris Johnson launched a worldwide competition to create a replacement for the classic Routemaster bus. The competition closed in Sept 2008, and winners were invited to an awards ceremony in London's Westminster on 19th Dec 2008.

London-Navigator-Bus-cool-3d-concept New London bus concept

Jamie was awarded joint second place, behind winners Aston Martin cars and Copoco. The finished bus is planned to hit the streets in 2011, and will be an amalgamation of the winning designs.

London-Navigator-Bus-cool-3d-concept New London bus concept

The London Navigator has been conceptualised as a spiritual successor to the now classic Routemaster bus. The Routemaster is regarded as one of the key recognisable icons of London. It was felt that an equally distinctive replacement for the Routemaster is required to retain this iconography; a red bus that can only be associated with London, is easily distinguishable from the standard double-decker or bendy bus, and is quintessentially British. The overall approach has been to produce a unique and recognisable bus; a functional yet characterful new icon for London.
