Sony Simplicity Phone Concept

Sony Simplicity, good looking “dumb” phone.

The Sony Simplicity Concept is a mobile phone, just a phone, nothing else. It's made for people that don't need the modern functions like SMS, Organizer, Camera, E-Mail, surfing and so on, it's made for people that just want to communicate via phone. Just like in the good old days.

KLM futuristic Airplane

KLM WB-1010 promises to revolutionize flight travel in 85 years.

Designer Reindy Allendra has envisioned a brilliant new aircraft that, if proven flight-worthy, could revolutionize travel. Inspired by a blue whale, the KLM WB-1010 looks like a giant blimp with supersonic engines in the back. Capable of carrying 1500 people at a max speed of 620mph, the futuristic aircraft comes with “smart glass” windows and a helium-injected body to maintain a light weight factor.

KLM futuristic Airplane

The WB-1010 (stands for Wright Brothers) is an official entry into the current KLM Indonesia aircraft design competition. It’s purely a concept plane using technology that might be feasible in the future, but still doesn’t exist.

VW Aqua Hovercraft concept

VW Aqua, great concept, if you need a hovercraft.

The Aqua Concept is a futuristic hovercraft (ACV – Air Cushion Vehicle) powered by Hydrogen and propelled by impellers. Looks great and futuristic, but something that VW will never make. The project was presented CDN  Awards and was conceived as an off-road vehicle targeted to Chinese customers.

The hovercraft was chosen for its ability to travel equally well over land, ice, and water, thus resulting quite suitable for China’s wide landform range of wetlands. Aqua features a powertrain with several engines, the main one is located under the chassis, which and is responsible for lifting the vehicle by forcing high pressure air under the craft.

V8 Wet Rod

Personal water craft V8 Wet Rod

In development, Wet Rod will feature a 16-foot (4.9-m) carbon fiber/epoxy body powered by a 300-hp 5.7-liter V8 engine. Its water jet propulsion system will reportedly take it up to a top speed of 65 mph (105 km/h). It is remarkably light for its size.

Strand Craft’s founder, Kurt Strand, partnered with a variety of professional PWC riders to develop the V8 Wet Rod. The speed is in line with what some well known PWC models deliver. Other specifications are further complementary. Strand says that the PWC’s dry weight will be 1,500 pounds. Load capacity will be 600 pounds. The V8 Wet Rod will carry 30 gallons of fuel, too.

Apple Watch, is it hit or miss??

The iWatch has arrived, and it’s called Apple Watch

Way too much hype is surrounding it. Everyone seems to think that it will be a hit because it is an Apple product. We see the iWatch penetrating the younger crowd. Soon after, interest will drop. Is it going to be a hit?? Only time will tell. We don’t think Swiss watch industry is in a trouble.

Apple Watch, is it hit or miss??

Apple Watch

The device has a square face. The display activates as you raise your wrist. The crown's spin changes what it does based on the context in which it's used. It allows zooming, control adjustment, and scrolling— and it's also the home button. There's also a button that allows you to call up your contact list.

Apple Watch

The Watch features interchangeable bands in a variety of materials, including a magnet-stuffed leather band that closes itself around your wrist, and a steel bracelet with a deployment-style clasp. There are two watch sizes, Apple has bundled the different options together into three distinct collections (aluminium, stainless steel and 18-carat gold).

Our Take

It it definitely the best smart watch today. There’s no question about that. There is lots unknown about Apple Watch (battery life, water resistance, etc). But, we still don’t get all the hype about “Smart Watch”. Maybe we are old fashioned, Watch to tell the time and iPhone for everything else.

Apple Watch

Too bad there’s no round version of the Apple Watch, we are not completely sold on a square face of the Watch. If you are into Fitness and Workout - this watch is amazing. SMS, Maps, and all the other “Smart” features, we are not so sure.

iSpace designers Workstation

Cool digital drawing board concept by Jameel Kamil.

iSpace designers Workstation merges the physical scale of the classic designer’s board with the functionality of a tablet into one unit. The iSpace Workstation is essentially an enormous flat screen computer monitor that stands on its sturdy tower and immediately digitizes everything that you draw.

iSpace designers Workstation

We really like Jameel Kamil's concept. It’s nice new wist on a classic drawing board.
We like the idea of working naturally, directly on the HD screen. Unfortunately it’s unrealistic and it will never happen. Also there is a problem with a modern software. You would still need keyboard and mouse.

iSpace designers Workstation

If you really want Interactive Pen Display, you might as well buy Wacom Cintiq. The best combination of touch display and digitizer pen on the market. 22” Wacom Cintiq is expensive ($2500) little quizmo, just imagine how much iSpace Workstation would be.

Furniture made from recycled Aircraft parts

Very cool furniture made from recycled Aircraft parts.

Southern California company MotoArt, features recycled Aircraft parts as the foundation for the modern, sleek piece of furniture. Results are awesome, but pricey.

Jumbo 747 sleeper

Boeing 747 conference table

One word comes to mind after taking a good long look at the Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet Conference Table– Epic! Formed from a General Electric engine nacelle, this piece of custom furniture is living proof why MotoArt is considered the pioneer, forerunner and standard-bearer of airplane furniture. Although fit for the Guggenheim, it’s better as a defining element for a modern office environment.

Boeing 747 conference table

At 12’ wide and sporting a high-mirror polish, the Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet Conference Table is simply commanding. Perfectly complementing the outer finish is a custom fabricated engine stator set with internal multicolored LED lighting topped with a polished spun aluminum dome, which lies beneath an elegant 1/2” round tempered glass top. The masterpiece seats up to twelve and can include a set of optional highly useful data ports.

Countless man-hours have been poured into the creation of this incredible piece of custom furniture. For those looking to transform their workspace into something powerful, artistic and distinctive, the Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet Conference Table is a first class fit.

The Rolling Mouse

The Rolling Mouse charges using electromagnetic induction.

The Rolling Mouse isn't just another cordless computer mouse. This good looking mouse doesn't require battery changes or a charger in order to juice up its battery. With the Rolling Mouse charging is done via short distance wireless charging using wireless Bluetooth technology through resonant inductive coupling - electromagnetic induction.

The Rolling Mouse

Because a large battery is not needed, the Rolling Mouse has a slim profile. Looks very elegant and slick. Unfortunately it looks there is a traditional scroll wheel and 2 buttons. Lack of Multi Touch technology is big minus. We would like to see ergonomically correct Magic Mouse (Apple).

Maxam Toothpaste

Awesome 3d illustrations will make you take better care of your teeth.

Maxam Toothpaste recently released a print campaign that’s sure to send people clambering to stores to buy toothpaste. Titled ‘Civilization Rome’ and ‘Civilization Egypt’ respectively, these two campaigns feature teeth that have been inhabited by some serious plaque. Rather than showing audiences nasty holes formed as a result of bacteria, the ad replicates historical monuments, leaving viewers in awe as to what plaque can potentially do to their teeth. The shock value of the graphics used will no doubt ensure Maxam Toiletries’ message is spread.

Maxam Toothpaste 3d illustration

This clever campaign was produced by JWT Shanghai. It’s already become such a hit that it won the Gold Outdoor and Gold Press Lions at Cannes International Festival of Creativity. The JWT team really outdid themselves on this one.

Amazing Photoshop Retouching

Stunning photo retouching by Michael Oswald

Full time, freelance movie poster designer, Michael Oswald has created very unique style. His artwork is a digital process that is best described as photo manipulation. He starts with a photograph, and digitally paints directly on top of the photo. It is a unique process which requires many hours of detailing.

Amazing Photo Retouching by Michael Oswald

Michael transforms the original female subjects into super stylish androids, robot pin-ups and sculptures.

Amazing Photo Retouching by Michael Oswald

Oswald is a true master of Photoshop and his work has been featured in many top art publications including Advanced Photoshop Magazine.

Amazing Photo Retouching by Michael Oswald

Workflow:

The first and most important step is coming up with a concept. I feel the best way to make interesting art is to have a good reason for making it. The next step is finding the right model and setting up a photo shoot. It is important to find the right model for an image and there have even been times when I have traveled to faraway places in order to find them.
