Biosphere Home Farming

Incredible Biosphere Home Farming concept by Philips

Home Farming explores growing at least part of your daily calorific requirement inside your house. This biosphere home farm has been designed to occupy a minimum of floor space and instead to stack the various mini-ecosystems on top of each other. It contains fish, crustaceans, algae and edible plants, all interdependent and in balance with each other. Water filtration, recycling of nutrients and optimum use of sunlight are all central to its appeal.

Biosphere Home Farming

When you are living in the suburbs or the country side, it's easy to grow your own food. Veggies like tomatoes and some fruits like apples tend to grow quite easily. However, the closer you move to a city, the harder it gets. It's just the lack of green space. Not a lot of people have access to huge gardens in the city center. That's where this concept from Philips tries to help out allowing people to grow their own food, no matter where they are located.
